What is Artists insurance?

When art is your life's work, insurance is probably the last thing on your mind. However, if you’re a serious artist and are exhibiting and performing regularly for members of the public you should think about the protection and many other benefits of insurance.

So what cover do you need as an artist?

Public Liability

Public liability insurance, although not mandatory, is essential cover for any artist. Especially if your work brings you into contact with members of the public.

Interactive art, audience participation and even exhibitions and performances are examples of how you come into contact with the public every day. In the event of a member of the public becoming injured, dying or their property becoming damaged as a result of your work you could be held liable.
