Scaffolders' Liability Insurance

However safety-conscious you might be, when carrying out scaffolding work there are always risks involved.

Scaffolders need to be more careful than most because of the dangerous nature of the job. Not only are you conducting work at height with heavy materials, but you are also in close contact with members of the public. If an accident was to occur on site, the results could be devastating to your scaffolding firm.

With our scaffolders insurance policy, we counter this risk by including public liability insurance. If you were to drop a heavy item and subsequently injure a passer-by, or damage third party property, public liability insurance would protect your scaffolding business should a claim arise.

Additionally, you might like to include employers’ liability insurance, which protects you if an employee sustains an injury at work. This is, in fact, compulsory insurance for all UK businesses with employees. So, if you haven’t already got a policy, why not include it as part of our scaffolders insurance package?!

Scaffolder Insurance Frequently Asked Questions

What is public liability insurance and employers liability insurance?

Public liability insurance for scaffolders covers your business against third party bodily injury or property damage claims resulting from your business operations.

Employer's liability insurance is compulsory by UK law. As a business, if you employ any member of staff, whether it is a contractor, sub-contractor, member of staff or temporary member of staff, it is essential that you have employer's liability insurance. The penalty for not having this in place is up to £2,500 for every day you employ someone without cover.

What levels of indemnity do you offer under a Scaffolder liability insurance policy?

We provide £10 million cover for employers liability. For public liability, we offer indemnity limits of £1 million, £2 million or £5 million.

If you feel your business requires a higher level of public liability cover, please contact one of our dedicated account handlers on 08081 686868.

How does the temporary employee benefit work?

If you take out a scaffolder liability insurance policy (a combined public and employer's liability policy), you will be automatically entitled up to 50 days of temporary employee cover.

How does the health and safety discount work?

If you can prove that you have a good health and safety record, you could be entitled to a further discount on your scaffolders insurance policy. For more information on this, please call one of our dedicated account handlers on 08081 686868.
