Fabricate

To make, build or construct.

Facade

The face of a building accentuated architecturally.

Faucet

A valve on the end of a water pipe by means of which water can be released from, or held within, the pipe.

Foundation bolt

An anchor bolt embedded in a footing or floor slab, usually to fasten down a mudsill and generally having a right angle bend at the bottom for better anchorage.

The skeletal beams and uprights of a building - an open structure that gives shape and support to the envelope of the building.

French drain

Field drains with the pipe surrounded by filter material like gravel.

Friction

A resistance encountered when one body moves relative to another body with which it is contact - a force that always opposes motion.

Friction pile

A bearing pile supported wholly by friction with the earth surrounding it - it carries no load at its point, unlike an end bearing pile.

Frog

 A recess in a brick to reduce its weight.

Frost heave

The up-thrust and cracking of a ground surface through the freezing and expansion of water underneath.
