Department for Transport grants
The hybrids are so cost-effective and environmentally-friendly that the Department for Transport have offered a grant to public sector buyers interested in Ashwoods hybrid vans. This grant lowers the cost of the slightly more pricey hybrid to that of a standardised diesel model. By making these vans initially more competitive (of course the long-term savings are head and shoulders above anything a diesel can provide), the DfT hope to put greener, more affordable automobiles onto the roads. This is particularly effective for public sector fleets. If you are interested you’ll need to act fast – grants are only available for the first 500 vans purchased.
What does hybrid technology actually do?
