Kelly Hoppen new Dragon in the Den
The BBC's Dragon’s Den is no place for the fainthearted, whether Dragon or entrepreneur. This year two Dragon’s announced their retirement – Theo Paphitis and Hilary Devey – after successfully backing many fledgling businesses staking their reputations in the Den. As the long running series prepares for another season, gossip is rife about who the new Dragons will be, but the BBC ended speculation about Hilary’s replacement this week when it announced that Kelly Hoppen would be taking her place.
Kelly, is an interior designer and successful businesswoman who has her own design business and design schoo. She was awarded an MBE in the 2009.
"Having started my design business as a teenager, building a global brand through two recessions, I understand the reality of running a creative business,” she said and added,
"I'm looking forward to bringing a different perspective into the Den and to hopefully finding an undiscovered gem or two."
She will bring a fresh perspective to the Den with her stylish looks and wild, curly blonde hair. The BBC said Kelly embodies everything that is great about British design and are delighted to have her on board.
