New UK Business Angels Association

Angels have long come to the rescue of budding entrepreneurs with fledgling companies needing an extra boost from a committed investor. With banks so tight fisted at the moment and the economy in need of a miracle, every effort is being made to give start up and small businesses every chance of success. This week saw the launch of the UK Business Angel Association with industrialist and successful angel himself, Nigel Rudd at the helm.

The organisation aims to increase the numbers of angels investing in British business – at the moment there are an estimated 18,000 investors putting a massive £1bn a year into start ups and growing businesses. It also wants to see the government continue to help their cause by offering greater incentives to business angels to make their much needed finance and expertise an investment worth making.

Sir Nigel said, “I have been an active angel investor for many years and helping to fund and support new ideas and ambitious management teams has provided me with some of my most enjoyable and memorable business experiences.”

There are angel networks across the UK actively looking for new businesses they can invest in.
