Political parties pressure - firms count the cost of volcanic ash

The travel chaos surrounding the volcanic ash cloud has put additional pressure on election candidates to prove they can provide adequate support to struggling UK businesses, comparison site Constructaquote.com has said.
Last week, flights into and out of the country were completely grounded after a cloud of ash from a volcano in Iceland spread across UK skies. The delays have had serious ramifications for businesses of all sizes across the UK and the rest of the globe.
And, despite the fact that it has been announced that many airline services have now resumed, it is expected that businesses will be left reeling from the shutdown for some time yet. While retailers have struggled to maintain stock levels, other businesses continue to be left without key personnel as services gradually resume.
