Constructaquote.com digs deep for charity

 In the last month, generous staff members at the Moorhouse Group (the parent company of Constructaquote.com) have raised £445.33 for Children In Need, £163.00 for troops in Afghanistan, and donated 26 Christmas presents to Action for Children.

In spite of the difficult economic climate, Moorhouse has continued its proud tradition of supporting charities on both a local and national scale. Its staff members have continued to pledge money to, and raise awareness of, a number of worthy causes throughout the year. The company hopes that other businesses will follow suit and keep donations up despite the downturn.

For Children In Need, the Moorhouse team took part in a range of outlandish activities to raise funds. This included everything from buffet lunches and bingo, to ‘crazy hair’ and cross-dressing. A signed Wales football shirt was also auctioned off across the company, raising £150. Moorhouse is delighted to have contributed to such an established charity, which raised in excess of £20 million for needy children across the United Kingdom.

More recently, staff members contributed £163 towards the Royal Welsh in Afghanistan Appeal. The money was used to purchase a number of items, which will be transported to soldiers currently serving in Afghanistan.

Moorhouse has also showed its support of children in Wales by pledging 26 Christmas presents to a Swansea respite centre. The centre is noted for its commitment to physically and mentally handicapped children. The IT, Accounting and Credit Control departments dropped their traditional ‘Secret Santa’ plans in order to raise donations for the centre.

The Moorhouse team is delighted to have contributed to so many valuable charities during 2009 and intends to keep donations up next year.
